Tamper is a New Zealand style coffee shop and are excellent at what they do. They have 3 shops around the city and always serve a great cup of coffee and their food is awesome too. I can personally recommend the mince on toast - it's a kiwi thing apparently!

This city centre venue is a must visit. There are several food providers gathered together in this community of independent eateries. The bar is well stocked and the range of food and drink is beyond compare for the city centre.

The area around the house is called Norton (or also Norton Lees). The area is quiet and has an older than average population for the city. Crime levels are low and most houses in the area are owned by families.
The biggest park nearby is Graves Park which is up the hill. It has a rare breeds centre and farmyard which is great for younger kids. Feeding the goats is a lot of fun. There is also a cafe and playground in the park.
Down the hill is Meersbrook Park which is smaller but has a good playground for kids, a skate bowl for older kids and a tennis court which is free to use.
There are a couple of pubs within walking distance of the house. The Prince of Wales and The Sportsman are the two that stand out.

If you like video games you MUST visit this temple to pixels. There are some classic arcade games here as well as some lesser-known and unique games and all can be played as many times as you like. Pay once to get in and every game is free.

This world-famous theatre is a local institution. The theatre scene in Sheffield has gone from strength to strength over the years. The range and quality of shows is excellent. The theatre features a thrust stage which is one of the biggest in Europe and means that the near 1000 capacity audience surround the stage on 3 sides. No member of the audience is ever more than 20 meters away from the stage. It is a great experience

A great outdoor walk past the estate and down towards the duck pond through the sheep fields and past a little shepherds hut. You can continue to Padley Gorge and onwards.

Check current openings on their website during Covid, you can walk around the outside of the farm and see the animals, the cafe is doing food to take away and is well worth it.

Padley Gorge TrailAbout 20 minutes from Abbeyview cottage this lovely little gem in the peaks is perfect for walking or picnicking at. You can park in marked bays for free by the ice cream van at the gate. Walking down towards the stream you can enjoy the surrounding area or walk further down to Grindleford through the trees or up towards Surprise View and Mothers Cap.
As the name suggests, this view is just magnificent. Park in Surprise View car park and head up the hill to mothers cap, follow the trail further into the peaks or just enjoy the view from here.
