They open from 5:30am/6am until 2pm. They serve the best coffee and breakfasts. All the locals go there (some even run business meetings from there!) If you have a surfboard, a bicycle, goggle and cap, dogs, a skateboard, a walking stick .. it all goes!

The Bike and Bean.

Entertainment & Activities
My home away from home, family orientated. Simple and cheap bar food, but with good coffee. The best sea views as right on the promenade. A good place to base yourself for access to the beach, with life guards. A friend Alan runs a learn to surf pop up just next door, with SUP and surfboard rentals.

Gatway has everything from all the high street brands, restaurants, movies and a water park. La Lucia is closer but smaller, and my preference.

The rugby stadium (South Africans are avid rugby fans... ) The SkyCar and viewing platform are perfect to see the whole of Durban, and if you are brave enough, you can get a rush from doing the swing jump!
