Neighborhood park featuring an off-leash play area for dogs in the back of the property. This place is a little noisy (due to the proximity of the freeway), but it's great if you enjoy big trees and shaded areas. (It can get wet and cool, which is great in summer and not so great sometimes in the fall/winter.) Take a little hike in the woods with your pooch either in the bigger park with your pooch on a leash or in the off-leash area, which features several walking loops. Watch out for the mid-morning and afternoon-sometimes dog walkers who show up with packs of all kinds of canine friends. There's often a lot of doggy playtime happening here.

Northacres Park
12718 1st Ave NENeighborhood park featuring an off-leash play area for dogs in the back of the property. This place is a little noisy (due to the proximity of the freeway), but it's great if you enjoy big trees and shaded areas. (It can get wet and cool, which is great in summer and not so great sometimes in the fall/winter.) You can find almost anything you might need in the city of Shoreline.
This is our neighborhood, nestled between I-5 and the Puget Sound. Our favorite features include Carkeek Park, Swanson's Nursery, and an assortment of restaurants. We also have a few lakes, including Haller Lake with its local swimming hole and Bitter Lake with an adjacent community center. Creative Dance with the brain dance for kids is also located in this neighborhood that once featured a major tourist attraction, a lakeside amusement park (sorry, it's closed now, but stop by the Bitter Lake Community Center to see photos).

Get great beer to drink here or take home (e.g. growler). They also have root beer and there's usually something to eat -- either in their cooler (like PBJs and egg salad sandwiches and chips) or outside with food trucks, usually on the weekends. Summer time brings outdoor movies too. Games nights, like trivia, are also common.

They have parking, including a handicap space, and they're easy enough to get to with public transit (on the main drag in Lake City).
