You will be pleasantly surprised with the extent and overall quality of the various restaurants in Island Park. There is a little bit of everything for anyone.
We recommend Trout Hunter for overall food quality and ambiance. However, Pond's Lodge is also a favorite with excellent pizza and the most extensive selection of beers on tap. Lakeside Lodge also offers quality food, at an excellent location and view.
(208)-558-9770 - Good breakfast, great burgers, nice steaks, also great bar and drinks. The patio sits right on the lake where you can have a drink or a meal. They also have live music on Fridays in the bar. Lakeside has rentals and water activities for kids. There are inflatable islands with trampolines that you can purchase a day pass (which includes a lifejacket) for $5. The water activities probably end Labor Day.

It is about 2 miles to the rapid so 4 miles roundtrip but the entire trail follows the river so you can make the trip as long or as short as you want. You will see lots of birds including osprey, blue heron, egrets, the occasional bald or golden eagle, potentially a moose, otters, and rarely a bear. A good idea to bring bear spray. The bottom of the rapid is a popular fishing spot.

Shows usually run 6 nights a week from June to the end of August. They rotate 3 separate shows throughout the week so you could go back 3 times without seeing the same show. You can get the show only tickets for $17 but the $30 for the prime rib and show is worth it for the prime rib alone.

Really beautiful waterfall, the drive alone is worth it, but the actual waterfall will take your breath away. Also the visitor center is a very cool place for kids to learn about the animals in Island Park.
