Observatory
Observatory is a great starting point for travellers, incl. adventure, events, work, shopping and entertainment. We are centrally located to everything you would want to do in and around Cape Town.
The Liesbeeck river runs along one of the main roads into Observatory from the N2 (airport) aptly named, Liesbeeck Park Way. It is a great place to run or cycle, get some exercise or to picnic and just sit and stare at Devil's Peak, on the side of Table Mountain, or.... to just watch the world go past. It is 5 minutes away and around the corner from our house in Observatory.

The Victoria Alfred Waterfront is a great place to spend a day and the Two Oceans Aquarium is right there. It has many amazing sea creatures, sharks, turtles, exotic fish and it's super entertaining. And,... we found Nemo there! The Victoria Alfred Waterfront and Two Oceans Aquarium is 11km (20 minute drive) away from our home in Observatory.

It has many amazing sea creatures, sharks, turtles, exotic fish and it's super entertaining. And,... we found Nemo there! Parks & Nature
It is breathtaking to be at the foot of a towering mountain with so many plants and trees to marvel at. There are also two restaurants and live concerts are often hosted on the sprawling lawns in the open air. Stunning!

Revolution Records has a huge selection of CD's and Vinyl Records. They are one of the few surviving record shops in Cape Town. They also buy second hand CD's and Records.

Not the cheapest in town but they are in the heart of Observatory and often have great specials. Very convenient, an 10 minute-walk from our house.

Getting Around
Although I can't really vouch for their service and the quality of their cars, we see many young people in Observatory renting from Rentacheapie. The cheaper cars for rent are mostly old VW Golfs but they also have many other car makes to choose from.

Cape Town City Centre and The Victoria Alfred Waterfront is 15 minutes drive away from our home in Observatory. It is so easy to call an Uber and go out partying or dining in Cape Town. We have some amazing restaurants with excellent food quality and lots of varieties.
