Great change of scenery and where a lot of locals will go to beat the heat. A 30 minute drive and a gain of more than 5000ft elevation will usually drop the temperature almost 20 degrees!
Grab a snow permit at one of the many local shops to play in the snow in the winter. Rent boats, paddle boards, and kayaks in the summer or take a horse riding adventure to get closer to nature.

Well worth the rough road to get there. Natural hot springs in a remote and rugged location. Great for hiking and swimming as well. If you want to get pampered, you won’t find a more idyllic location. There is a masseuse you can book an appointment with and the small restaurant serves among other things bison and elk.

Well worth the rough road to get there. Natural hot springs in a remote and rugged location. Great for hiking and swimming as well. If you want to get pampered, you won’t find a more idyllic location. There is a masseuse you can book an appointment with and the small restaurant serves among other things bison and elk.
Ah Yosemite, have you heard? This stunner is one hour from our home. If you have never been and have the time we absolutely recommend making the day trip.

Why is it called lake Millerton? The old town of Millerton (and former county seat) was flooded when Friant Dam was built. The only building saved was the courthouse which sits looking right over the lake and its former home.

Great for a jog, bike ride, or just a stroll through the park. There is a dog park, dirt bike course, disc golf course, a Japanese tea garden, and hosts country concerts as well as a yearly music festival. You can easily rent bikes at the Woodward Bike Shop on Friant road.

Right by our home. Pincushion Trail is at the end of Sky Harbour Rd. You can make it as easy or as hard as you would like. We have done longer hikes on our own as well has shorter ones as a family. It does have a bit of steepness - but at the top you will get gorgeous views of Millerton Lake and the San Joaquin River
