This is one of the more affordable places to pick up some lunch on the go. I've eaten here a couple of times and each time has been great. Don't be put off by the queue, its worth it.

It is easy to see why this family-run restaurant rates in the top ten for brunch in Bath. The choice of food is good with the flexibility to pick and mix, the service is friendly and the food is fantastic, whatever the choice. Independent, relaxed - sit for hours with beautiful wine and sharing small plates so loads of choice and incredible value for the quality of the food. Lovely to sit out in the garden or terrace

On part of the ground floor of the Empire Hotel in Bath, overlooking Pulteney Bridge. We love the huge, high ceilinged dining room that still manages to feel private due to the layout of the tables. We've always had excellent food here. Great for a large gathering or an intimate meal for two.

The White Hart is 50 steps from our home over the road from the Co-op. It makes the grade because it has a magical garden to enjoy with friends when the sun is out and warm and cosy inside in the evening. Food is good.

Recently taken over by our favourite Irish pub landlord Mick Dempsey, the Ring O Bells is as lovely as the staff are friendly. The atmosphere is filled with laughter and discussion, and the decor is warm and comfortable. Only 50m from our home. It's worth going in for some craic either on your way to town or on your return from your days pursuits.

The atmosphere is filled with laughter and discussion, and the decor is warm and comfortable. Only 50m from our home. It's worth going in for some craic either on your way to town or on your return from your days pursuits.
Get there during daylight. The view over Bath is incredible. Food is fantastic and the atmosphere is friendly and warm. Catch a cab up and down. Walking up the steep hill and the pain that comes with it may be worth it but not advised!
