Food scene
Situated a moments’ walk from the cottage the 16th century former coaching inn has a large restaurant and conservatory over looking the courtyard garden and children’s play area. The bar has a large range of local ales, ciders and beers along with an extensive wine list. A freshly prepared, locally sourced menu and specials board every day, we can recommend the carvery on a Sunday, served from 12pm. They also have a pool table, skittle alley and show all major sporting events.

14 Hobb's HillJust 5 minutes’ walk away from the cottage, Croyde’s famous freehouse is our favourite place to visit, with great food including breakfast, specials board, surf reports and live music throughout the year, don’t get bitten by the rattler cider, it’s 6%!
Hobbs is just a 5 minute walk from the cottage, it’s a lovely little restaurant with a varied menu, we go here on special occasions!

Great pub 25 min walk away in Georgeham, we go to the open mic night on the first Sunday of the month which is always good fun, make sure you take a torch if you’re walking as the road is unlit.

Walk all the way over Baggy Point to reach Putsborough beach and stop for a snack. Brilliant dog friendly café serving hot and cold meals, drinks and ice creams, lovely to sit in the winter after a walk with a hot drink and toasted teacake! Also sells some essentials, beach/dog items.

The fish and chips at this campsite are so good we had them at our wedding! Get them wrapped and walk along the footpath from Sandy Lane to enjoy them sat in the dunes. Not open all year so give them a call to check they're open, they have a sign outside too saying if they're serving if you drive past: 01271 890501,
