The huge lake is formed by the sea and is surrounded by the amazing Cedar Forest, the Sandy Hills, Issos beach (a.k.a. Linia beach) and Chalikounas beach on the southern side and the Chlomos village and its suburbs(Linia community) on the northern side. It is the habitat of many local species, many of them rare, as well as a transit spot for many migrating birds (for ex. : flamingos transit here for approximately a week, in the beginnings of spring )

Lake Korission

Due to the distance from Corfu town, the beach was gathering for many years the adventurous "explorers", the ones that were in search for everything that isn't "touristic". In the last years, the beach has gain a lot of new fans, becoming one of the top beach destinations for locals mainly, but still managing to keep it's natural environment intact and not too crowdy. The 2 main beach bars located here are organizing various musical events throughout the summer, so there is always something interesting going on.

The village can be reached easily by foot following the main road that will take you on the other side of the mountain to Messoghi, being suitable for hiking, or by car, if you want to conserve your energy and enjoy a more relaxed trip. Do make a stop to the village cafeteria and have a chat with the locals, you will enjoy it a lot. You can also purchase local products such as olive oil, fresh fruits and vegetables, wine, honey, etc.

The Chlomos village is one of the many Corfiot mountainy villages that have kept intact the traditional architecture, vibe and atmosphere. Located on the top of the mountain, it offers a breathtaking panoramic view towards the east and the west of the island and of the surrounding mountains. The village can be reached easily by foot following the main road that will take you on the other side of the mountain to Messoghi, being suitable for hiking, or by car, if you want to conserve your energy and enjoy a more relaxed trip. Do make a stop to the village cafeteria and have a chat with the locals, you will enjoy it a lot. You can also purchase local products such as olive oil, fresh fruits and vegetables, wine, honey, etc.

Linia Mini Market is your everyday stop for your groceries, bread (if you want to have a good variety of bread types to choose from, is preferable to go as earlier in the morning as you can), household various useful items, bottled water, juice, beer, cigarettes, etc.. Open all day long till late in the evening.
