Named after the famous Italian city, Naples is a neighborhood built on three islands located in Alamitos Bay. As you might expect, this part of the city is particularly famous for its gondola trips through the canals which join up the island. Rides have been offered here since 1982, and Long Beach is one of only eight places on the West where you can ride in a gondola. The islands are divided by canals which open into the bay. Most of the streets on the island have Italianate names. The center of Naples features a large fountain which serves as a popular meeting spot.

LONG BEACH WATERFRONT: While the Waterfront is home to some of the more famous Long Beach visitor attractions, it's also worth walking in its own right. Rainbow Harbor is the starting point for those who want to engage in some whale watching, stand up paddleboarding, or any kind of water adventure. Meanwhile, Marine Park is the perfect place to soak up some sun, play with the kids, or spend time with the family in the lifeguard protected Mother's Beach.

The Hangar is a very open & spacious, modern style market place meant to resemble an actual hangar. Seeing how it is really close to the LB Airport it only makes sense that that was the vision for such a place. The designers did a nice job repurposing an old airplane hangar into a high quality food court where you’ll find something for everyone. The interesting part is that the developers integrated what this area used to be with its modern direction. You will see many flight & airplane symbols & history. With indoor & outdoor seating paired with a wide array of food & drink options, The Hangar has pretty much something for anyone. I am a big fan of The Kroft (also located in the Anaheim Packing district) & I would recommend their garlic fries. Bottlecraft as a solid selection of local craft beers & select wines. They also apparently have iced coffee in bottles. A variety of food & drink stations are set up in a huge structure where airplanes were once built. A very nice place to hang out & spend fun times with family & friends.

Wow! Talk about a great bang for the buck. And great quick service. I was thoroughly impressed. So, we love Korean BBQ but there is usually something about each place that makes it less than impressive. This place pretty much checked all the boxes. The food was good and affordable, they were flexible in that you could start with the cheapest menu and if you wanted to upgrade all you did was order from the next menu. It's an A, B, C type menu: - A Menu = $11.99/per person - B Menu = $14.99/per person - C Menu = $19.99/per person Meat selections include: - beef bulgogi, beef brisket, beef belly, spicy pork, spicy pork bulgogi, pork steak, marinated pork steak, pork belly, small intestines, chicken, spicy chicken, squid, & that is for the A-Menu alone. Additional types of meat selections fall into the B- & C-Menus, but we are satisfied with the selection from the A-Menu. BTW, miso soup, steamed rice, rice cakes, salad, sides like rice paper, pickled dicon radish paper, pickled rice noodles, marinated bean sprouts, kimchi, spicy cucumber, spiced pasta are included in the A-Menu. They serve iced teas, hot teas, fountain colas, bottled & canned colas, draft beers, bottled & canned beers, including Korean beers, Korean rice wine & raspberry wines. The service was super fast. Meat was at our table as fast as we ordered it and was definitely of good quality. And all the servers were friendly. Not always the case a K-BBQs. Definitely going back to this place and soon.

Built in 1936, the Queen Mary was a luxury cruise ship in the vein of the doomed Titanic. She completed her 516th and final voyage to Long Beach, California, in December 1967. Today, this beautiful ship is a top tier hotel. The suites have been lovingly restored, and many have their original art deco accents and beautiful wooden floors. However, if you're not looking to stay overnight, you can still visit the famous restaurant, the British pub, or the sundeck tearoom, or the 1930s style cocktail bar with original artwork.

CONTACT MOLAA (562) 437-1689 628 Alamitos Avenue, Long Beach, CA, 90802, United States HISTORY The Museum of Latin American Art (MOLAA) was founded in 1996 in Long Beach, California and serves the greater Los Angeles area. MOLAA is the only museum in the United States dedicated to modern and contemporary Latin American and Latino art. Since its inception, MOLAA has doubled its size and added a 15,000 sq. ft. sculpture garden. Its permanent collection now numbers over 1,600 works of art. The Museum is located in the city’s rapidly developing East Village Arts District. Between 1913 and 1918 the site that the Museum now occupies was home to the Balboa Amusement Producing Company, then the World’s most productive and innovative silent film studio. Before there was a Hollywood, Balboa was the king of the silver screen, producing as much as 20,000 feet of negative film a week. The building that was renovated and became MOLAA’s Balboa Events Center may have been part of the old Balboa film studios. MOLAA’s exhibition galleries, administrative offices and store are housed in what was once a roller skating rink known as the Hippodrome. Built in the late 1920s, after the film studios were gone, the Hippodrome was a haven for skaters for four decades. The building then served as a senior health center for fifteen years. The high vaulted ceilings and beautiful wooden floors were perfectly suited for the Hippodrome's final metamorphosis into the Museum of Latin American Art.

BEACHES

Bolsa Chica State Beach is a public ocean beach in Orange County, California, United States. It is located north of Huntington Beach and south of the community of Sunset Beach. This beach is used for surf fishing, especially in the tidal inlet channel at the southern end. Bolsa Chica State Beach is a popular state beach, drawing hundreds of thousands of visitors to its location south of the community of Sunset Beach in Orange County. This area was once called "Tin Can Beach" and became a state beach in 1960. Bolsa Chica is a perfect place to go surfing, sunbathing, play volleyball, enjoy water sports, hold family outings or to watch the sun set. Average summer temperatures range in the high 70's-80's, while winter brings slightly cooler temperatures to the mid-60's. The beach consistently draws prime waves and the surf breaks in shallower water, causing incoming waves to form a desirable curled shape as they crest. Bolsa Chica is also a place for surf fishing of perch, corbina, California corbina, croaker, cabezon, shovelnose guitar fish and sand shark. At new and full moons during the summer, visitors can enjoy bare-handed fishing for California grunion, a species that only spawns on sandy southern California beaches. Under state law, these fish may be caught by hand with a fishing permit. Wildlife and bird watching are also popular at this state beach. The Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve is located across the Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) from the beach and is operated by the California Department of Fish and Game. The Bolsa Chica State Beach Visitor Center features year-round interpretative displays and exhibits. The State Beach has 50 campsites with electric and water hookups for self-contained RVs. Picnic tables, outdoor showers and restrooms are accessible. A beach wheelchair is available for loan, with ramps for sand access. There is a paved beachside trail that runs for 8.5 miles between Bolsa Chica and Huntington State Beaches. NOTE: Tent camping is not allowed at Bolsa Chica State Beach. Fire rings are available every day of the year from 6 am to 10 pm.
