It's what some may call a "hole in the wall" but it has delicious and authentic Iniian food! Also, it's very affordable and it has all you would ever crave when it comes to Indian cuisine.

Lockhart Smokehouse, the next-best thing to a barbecue tour of the Texas Hill Country, is a descendant of the legendary Kreuz Market in Lockhart, Texas, where the Lockhart Smokehouse co- owner’s grandfather began smoking meat in 1900. The sausage — a frequent winner of best-in-state honors — is cooked low and slow on-site in giant traditional smokers alongside brisket, ribs, and more. The Texas roadhouse décor, live country music in the dining room, or a high-energy concert going on next door at Arlington Backyard create a special experience for guests.

At Mercury Chophouse, the plates themselves are special occasions: escargot, roasted rack of lamb, and a variety of prime steaks. But the setting elevates things further, with a ninth-floor dining room that boasts expansive views over Arlington’s Entertainment District. It’s an unforgettable treat at twilight or after dark, with the city’s attractions lit up and on display in a postcard- worthy panorama. Arlington.org

The Sonic Drive-In facade is just part of Prince Lebanese Grill’s fame as one of the most frequently recommended restaurants in Arlington. For three decades, this family-run and family-favorite restaurant has been feeding their delicious dolmas and fluffy basmati rice to the good people of Arlington with unfailingly pleasing service and prices. BYOB beer and wine make it even more affordable, and popular sampler plates let you enjoy a little bit of everything, from flavorful lamb, beef, and chicken to grilled vegetables, Greek salad, hummus, and baba ghanoush. TOP MENU PICK: CUSTOMERS MOST OFTEN CHOOSE THE SHAWARMA CHICKEN, BEEF, OR LAMB, BUT ALL THE SERVERS LOVE THE SPECIALTY SALAD, A LEBANESE, GREEK, FATTOUSH, OR TABBOULEH SALAD Arlington.org

Entertainment

If you are coming to Arlington and have a day to spare, you should definitely go to Six Flags! Fun roller coasters and funnel cakes are my favorite part of this park. Sometimes you can find coupons on Groupon or other websites, so don't forget to check those before purchasing tickets!

The smart way to beat the Texas heat from May to September is with frequent trips to Six Flags Hurricane Harbor, a waterpark that’s maxed out with 47 acres of rides and attractions. Wear a swimsuit and go for big experiences like the Dive Bomber, a seven-story body slide, or one of the many inventive contraptions that provide watery thrills. For more conventional pleasures, practice your cool with the surf simulator Surf Rider, float gently down the Lazy River, or battle the ocean-like swells in the Surf Lagoon wave pool. For parents, take everyone to Hook’s Lagoon Treehouse, where the kids can climb and splash while you kick back in the lounging area. The very youngest can play pirate at Hook’s Ship, with sprayers and small slides. Weekly “dive-in” movies in the giant wave pool are a refreshing way to end a day of summer sightseeing, with superhero and other family-friendly films. Arlington.org

The wondrous AT&T Stadium is best known as the home of the Dallas Cowboys, who play here September through January. But at other times, it gets put to good use for other events. See big touring acts like U2 with 80,000 of your closest friends. Check the schedule to see if one of your favorite performers happens to be in town. The Rolling Stones, Beyoncé, and One Direction have appeared here, as have rodeos, WWE wrestling, the Final Four basketball tournament, and the Academy of Country Music Aawards ceremony. Whether you attend a big event, a daytime tour of the $1.3 billion AT&T Stadium is a great experience on its own. Arlington.org

Take them out to the ballgame. For one more season, April to September 2019, the Texas Rangers will play at Arlington’s Globe Life Park, their home since 1994. And aside from the baseball action, this is one of DFW’s most entertaining places to eat. Globe Life Park’s annual food specials are starting to rival the Texas State Fair in their glorious fried silliness. Last year saw the debut of the Dilly Dog, a corn dog made with a beef dog inside a hollowed-out dill pickle; and the Triple B, bacon, brisket, and bologna slathered with barbecue sauce and sandwiched between two fluffy rolls. On the flip side, there are also vegan nachos. But don’t worry: you’ll always be able to get ballpark faves like classic hot dogs and peanuts. And be sure to leave Arlington.org

Arlington is full of man-made wonders, but sometimes it’s nice to let Mother Nature do the work instead. Head to the 1,300-acre River Legacy Parks on the northern edge of the city. It truly is an urban oasis with opportunities for paddling, biking, or nature tours. Get the whole family outdoors with a paddling excursion on the Trinity River. Visit riverlegacy. org for a list of outfitters and enjoy a leisurely float with panoramic views. While away, spend a few hours navigating the Trinity River Paddling Trail for its whole eight miles, or try a two-mile route. Up for a family bike ride? There are more than eight miles of paved hike-and- bike trails through the park’s thick greenbelt of elms and oaks. Check the calendar for guided nature tours, especially nighttime programs that let you see bats, owls, and other nocturnal residents. The River Legacy Living Science Center, an interactive indoor nature center, has hands-on exhibits, aquariums, and terrariums that entertain while they educate. If you’ve brought your canine family members to Arlington, check out the seven-acre Rush Creek Dog Park, west of downtown. There are four fenced-in areas plus water fountains and wash stations, and shaded seating for humans. The whole family can exercise together at nearby Rush Creek Linear Park, with 2.5 miles of dog- friendly trails. Arlington.org
