Good Eats
Lists some of my restaurant recommendations for the general areas of New Smyrna Beach, Daytona Beach, Port Orange, and Ormond Beach. Restaurants are not sorted by price, so it's suggested that you view menus/prices from their website! Happy eating!
Walking distance from the Airbnb! Huge selection of tap beer and some of the best burgers in the area. Music can be a little loud in the evenings, but is 100% worth dealing with for the food. Favorites include the Tijuana Peso Girl (burger) with an egg on it, Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich, and the onion rings--come fried in a delightful batter.

1200 Main StThis is the separate bar and restaurant UPSTAIRS from Joes's Crab Shack on the Main St. Pier. Food is hit or miss and they have generic beach drinks, beer, etc., but the view and atmosphere is worth a visit. Gives you that ocean breeze and sweeping views of the coastline and ocean!
This relatively new addition to the Hardrock line is worth stopping into for views of the music memorabilia and seaside drink or snack. They have multiple bars and venues with live music. Easy walk from the Airbnb and the closet option for an ocean-facing patio/lounge/restaurant/etc.

For the Dogs (Also for Outdoor Adventures without Dogs!)
List provides some options to go out and explore with your furry best friend.
Some safety and local tidbits:
1) Some of our river shorelines have oyster beds that can cut dog paws. Always check that the area is sandy and safe before letting your dog run into the water. Our direct ocean shorelines are all sandy sandy sandy, so generally fine.
2) Fresher waters (more inland or closer to streams and springs) will have a higher chance of alligator presence. These living dinosaurs are generally docile, but please monitor your pet. The Halifax river near the Airbnb and south towards the inlet (where the river meets the ocean) is brackish, strong salt presence, and it is VERY, VERY rare to see an alligator in these waters.
3) Our coasts and shorelines have protected and vulnerable plants and animals. Please keep an eye on your pet near wildlife, stay off of the ocean sand dunes with vegetation, and watch out for our turtle nests!
We hope this helps with keeping your pups healthy, as well as protecting our natural systems while you enjoy the area!

However, there is also free parking prior to the park entrance and the walk in is manageable. The inlet area is worth the trip and is a prime location to see some of our resident marine life!

Great area to see the occasional manatee, as the smaller waterways are calm for our lazy & gentle giants!
Nice stop to see a big, old, and beautiful oak tree. Also very dog-friendly and free! There are several primitive trails in the area and make this a fantastic spot to get your dog out for a nature walk. Bring the mosquito spray!

Book a sunset tour on one of the sailboats or just enjoy the rich history and culture of the area!

Beautiful and quaint town about an hour and a half from the Airbnb.
Things To Do Nearby
World Famous Daytona Beach! Beach, pier, boardwalk, amphitheater, shops, arcade, restaurants, and main street area. The beach stretch directly by the pier area can be extremely busy, but the entire area is recommended for a sightseeing, shopping, dining, oceanside adventure.
