One of my favorite breakfast spots with a BYOB mimosa bar on Sundays, Cru is also well-known for lunch and pastries! They serve locally-roasted Custom House coffee, and are located right next door to the Audrain Auto Museum and the International Tennis Hall of Fame.

The closest location of a popular local coffee shop. The coffee is top-notch, and tea is great, too. For real local flavor, try the Aquidneck Honey latte. Just across the street from the International Tennis Hall of Fame and Audrain Auto Museum.

Great American casual walking distance from the house. The scallops are my favorite, but the lobster and the steak are both also excellent! A real hidden gem off the main beat of Thames Street.

If you’re lucky, you might spot local car enthusiast Jay Leno. Check their website for select Saturday Cars and Coffee at unique Newport locations like Fort Adams or the Elms.

The mansion that started it all for the Newport Preservation Society! My personal favorite, open year-round. The unique Servant Life Tour is a different look at a mansion, too, if you have already done a traditional mansion tour.

Hop on the trail just five minutes walk from the house. My favorite time to visit is around sunrise, when I have the trail to myself save for the bunnies (and some adventurous surfers!). From the Cliff Walk, you can see almost all of the notable mansions, and from this vantage point it is easy to imagine you are back in the Golden Age of turn-of-the-century Newport.
Cliff Walk 40 Steps
Hop on the trail just five minutes walk from the house. My favorite time to visit is around sunrise, when I have the trail to myself save for the bunnies (and some adventurous surfers!). From the Cliff Walk, you can see almost all of the notable mansions, and from this vantage point it is easy to imagine you are back in the Golden Age of turn-of-the-century Newport.
