Open from 7am - 10pm and beyond, they offer a full menu of high quality foods. Good for breakfast, lunch and dinner, the menu is a crowd pleaser and everything is delicious. The space is serene, and beautiful and lovely just to sit in to read or work. The staff speaks English.

Their wifi is good and they have an upstairs loft that is often quiet for doing work. A daytime favorite! A super serene garden space, this restaurant serves vegetarian and vegan food in a tranquil, lush setting. Their wifi is good and they have an upstairs loft that is often quiet for doing work. On site they have a temazcal (sauna) to rent, massage services, and a palapa that is used for daily yoga classes and other activities.
If you want to eat local food or try street food, eat here to be safe. This budget friendly restaurant directly supports the local community in efficient and inspiring ways. Their food is outstanding and their mission a true service to community members in great need.

Their menu is relatively high-end for San Marcos and the views are SUBLIME. We particularly love their sandwiches and fried potatoes and visit with an appetite for dining lakefront. Try to cozy up on the terrace sofa, it's a treat!

For so many reasons I love it here... often have a taste for one of their reliable menu items, and sometimes I go just because it is a nice place to sit. Coffee drinkers enjoy their coffee and their bakery sells local coffee by weight.

This downtown hotel is tucked away into the hillside and it’s absolutely beautiful! Their garden is lush as the name describes and it is a lovely place to enjoy their exciting menu!

Nectar sources the highest quality ingredients, which brings their fantastic menu to life. Their house coffee is a local favorite, as are their fried sweet potatoes, and just about everything else on their menu.

GREAT CAKES!!!! Delicious menu with especially decadent breakfast and beverages. Within the Emporium is a nice sushi spot, as well as a bulk shop and boutique. Enjoy for breakfast, lunch and dinner!

San Juan is a precious neighboring town that is known for its artistry. Painters guilds have colored the towns walls and sell exquisite painting in local themes.
Cooperatives of women weavers create amazing textile products that make wonderful souvenirs and gifts. Off the beaten path cooperatives that we love are Casa Flor Ixcaco (www.woven-gt.com) which gives an incredible demonstration and 3-hour weaving lessons. Way off the beaten path is Tinte Maya, which is a precious, humble, talented cooperative that takes an effort (and maybe a tuk tuk) to find them in their new location heading out of San Juan towards San Pablo.
San Juan is super fun and among our favorite places.
