One of my favourite restaurants. Great typical Austrian food in very good quality, great wine selection, still not too expensive and not too touristy. Booking in advance may be necessary.

The D'strict in the Ritz Carlton is my favourite Steak house in Vienna. Amazin food and wine variety but a pit on the pricy side. There is also a great cocktail lounge in the ground floor and a rooftop bar!

If you're interested in the history of Vienna without spending too much time on it - this is a really great 5D (3D cinema including wind, movement...) show where you find out about Vienna's history in ca. 1-2 hours. It ends with a simulation of an air raid in a bunker in WW II

If you don't have the time to go and see the Schönbrunn castle at least take the time to visit the Belvedere castle which is the former castle of Prince Eugen, the defender of Vienna against the Turkish troops during 1683. It's now housing some of the greatest collections of art of Vienna (and the world). E.g. some of the prominent Klimt pictures.

This place resembles the Habsburg family's hunting refuge and the Hermesvilla (which is basically a castle) is also where Empress Elisabeth also renowned as Sissi spent a lot of her time... In the park you can hike for several hours and meet deer and wild hogs...

Laqxenburg castle: A Habsburg summer castle with a great garden, good for some hours. You can see the Franzensburg castle and go for a an E-boat ride, here. Also great with kids.
