Sightseeing
Our local village is a fifteen to twenty minute walk away (2 min drive). There are medieval buildings and a Roman bridge over the River Dropt. The Romanesque church is impressive.
There is an excellent general grocery, Proxi, opposite the mairie and a friendly bar/restaurant.
We highly recommend the ‘soirees gourmandes’ on Friday evenings throughout July and August.

One of France's prettiest villages, Monpazier is about 40 minutes drive from Le Serpen. Full of quaint buildings and interesting boutique shops. Well worth a visit.

Nature walk
The Lac de L'Escourou is very close to us - less than a five minute drive away. There is a footpath/ cycle path around the lake (about 9k) and some nice picnic spots. The upper part of the lake (2k circuit) is a nature reserve with hides for bird watching and information boards on the flora and fauna (some interactive ones for children).
