Favourite Restaurants

There are so many lovely places to eat in Hastings & St Leonard's. we have selected a few we enjoy but you will find plenty of others to sample!
Plenty to do and see! Variety of independent shops in the Old Town in addition to high street brands in Hastings town centre. Take a stroll along the prom, or access the West and East hill using the vernacular railway! We would recommend the following restaurants: The Land of Green Ginger in the Old Town also offer a great breakfast choice with a small outside seating area located at the back of the property. You can't leave Hastings without sampling some fish and chips! The Blue Dolphin in the Old Town serves excellent fish & chips-take them across to the seafront to enjoy. or alternatively try The Seagull Restaurant if you prefer to sit down with your meal. look out for the local paintings displayed in here by your host's sister Lynda! Maggies in the old town is really popular as is the Rock a Nor kitchen-both offering fresh fish. You can also purchase fresh fish to cook at home from the Fishing Huts in the old town. The Albion in the Old Town have a fab Pie menu which is becoming well known for its simplicity & gorgeous flavours. Vegetarian option included, Petit Fi in George Street offer a great lunch time menu, catering for vegetarians. or you may be tempted into one of their lovely homemade cakes. Try the quirky Thai Book shop-only open during the evening & booking is required. Small menu offering home cooked food. NB:cash only & you can take your own drink (there is a small supermarket in the same street-George Street offering these facilities) Wide choice of live music available from many of the pubs. Fab place to visit for another selection of beautiful restaurants & quirky shops! Head to Norman Road and Kings Road for a selection of antique, bric a brac & independent shops. Try out some of the restaurants: Sample local fish baps, with gluten free and vegan options at the Goats Ledge in St Leonard's-seating is outside only. Situated at the Seafront in Warrior Square. Or try the Edge at 44 Marina, they do the most amazing cakes and crepes! Suitable for vegans. Remy's Cafe Kulinarya in Kings Road is Philippine Cafe-offering European, British, Asian, food. (Vegetarian Friendly) Try out the Tapas night on a Thursday-booking may be required. Bonjour in St Leonard's has an excellent breakfast menu offering seating outside. If this is busy there are several other excellent places to sample nearby Including the Seakale in London Road it Kassa, Seagraze or Smiths all On the seafront of St Leonard’s. Consider a visit to the Kino Teatra which first opened in 1913! Now offering a varied choice of films, music nights and excellent Lebanese food along with Jazz breakfasts in a Sunday-booking required.
