If you're lucky, you might catch some locals playing guitar and singing. It is an old fashioned beer garden, and the owners live on the property in a very cool historic house. You can peek in the brewery building and see the large vats. Kids and dogs are welcome, and there are firepits as the GCB is open year round. It does close at 7 pm, and there is a small indoor space with some board games etc. Love this place!

This building was the Territorial Capitol before Colorado became a state! The food is pretty good, but I come here for the live music! They have Open Mic every Tuesday starting around 6:00. They also have live music every Thursday beginning around 5:30.

1122 Washington AveThis building was the Territorial Capitol before Colorado became a state! The food is pretty good, but I come here for the live music! They have Open Mic every Tuesday starting around 6:00. They also have live music every Thursday beginning around 5:30.
This is a very friendly place. I love the food, they have some really creative items on the menu. They have live music on Fridays, so that's when I go there!

I can't wait till the Rose re-opens in the fall! I hope they don't change it too much because I loved the live music on the patio daily in the warm months. You could just wander in and out. This building has been around over a hundred years. Back in the 80's we saw The Marshall Tucker band headlining at Red Rocks Amphitheater, and the next night we were dancing while they played onstage at Buffalo Rose!

This is two blocks from our BnB! My favorite this about it is the outdoor patio area. It is literally right on Clear Creek, and it's just a fun place to watch life! The trees, mountains and creek are beautiful. But also, you may be seeing tubers and kayakers in the creek, hangliders over Lookout Mountain and people strolling along the creek path. Make sure to try the Mountain Man Salad!

Woody's is about a three block walk. Their pizza is the best! You can watch them make it in the fire kiln, and scoop up your choice as soon as it comes out! And the choices they have! My favorite is the "cheeseburger pizza" I also love the salad bar. It's fun to choose to eat on the patio as it is great for people watching! My favorite thing about Woody's is that at the end of your meal, the wait staff ASKS YOU how many pieces of pizza and salad bar trips you had! Where does that even happen anymore?! Love the trust! Also, the beer cheddar soup is to die for! They also have trivia games on Wednesday nights, fun times!

Make it a priority to catch a concert here! If you can't do that, then you need to go to see the amazing rock formations, free Rock and Roll museum, the Trading Post and walk the trails! This place has the best backdrops for your photos ever!

Right across the street and over the bridge!! In summer months, there are literally hundreds of people at/in the creek! There is a beautiful wide walking path to watch all the life that's happening. There is kayaking, tubing, wading and suntanning on the rocks in the creek. There are picnics, playgrounds, a microscopic "beach", a library, bike rental, and parks bordering the creek. Not to mention the hang gliders over the creek!
Feels like a vacation spot!
And if you walk west for 1/2 mile, go onto the dirt path under 6th Avenue, you will feel like you're in the middle of nature, surrounded by mountains, and not a street or house in sight!

This outdoor museum is literally right across the street! It is a park like setting with historic buildings from various places in Colorado. You can wander around and see a schoolhouse, miner's home, chicken coop, etc. And it's FREE!

Miner's Alley is our local community theater. It's about a 3 block walk. The plays are always fantastic! I highly recommend making this a priority!

Go to 19th street, turn left and go as far as you can. You will be at the trailhead. This is a great hike that takes you to the top of the iconic mesa. There used to be a dance hall in located there in the late 1800's. The folks got there by a cog rail way known as a "funicular". The views are amazing! There are a lot of switchbacks so the climb isn't as exhausting as it looks.
