We'll start with a tour of the sanctuary where you'll meet a variety of rescued farm animals. We'll share their stories of resilience and healing and talk a bit more about the industries they come from. You'll love meeting our animal ambassadors and may be surprised at what you learn, since we so rarely see the animals in our food system. Join us afterwards at our picnic tables in the field for a glass of local wine and a vegan cheese and charcuterie platter. (Note: The platter contains nuts and gluten unless otherwise requested. Please inform us of any allergies when you make your booking so we can be sure to provide suitable options. Non-alcoholic beverages will also be served.) The Experience will last approximately 2 1/2 to 3 hours. Please be mindful that as a sanctuary for rescued animals, our priority is the physical and emotional well being of the rescued animals who call Charlie's Acres home. Our loved animal residents are completely free and always have a choice as to whether or not they want to interact with visitors. They will reside at the sanctuary for the rest of their lives, where we'll have the honor of taking care of them. After being introduced to the space and to each other, I will provide a quick demonstration on the wheel with a small amount of clay. Afterwards, each guest will be allowed time to create a piece on the wheel from beginning to end with personal instruction and assistance from me. Guests are welcome to make anything they would like to on the wheel! Cup, bowl, vase, dish, etc. (Please Read)The firing of pottery is a long process that is separate from the time we spend on the wheel. Each piece requires a two day long firing process in a kiln, and I hand glaze each piece. I offer kiln services out of my personal studio if you have interest in having your piece fired for a *small fee that is not due the day of the experience.* I do not include this in the price of the experience because some guests do not wish to keep their piece. Wear comfortable clothing that you don't mind getting some clay on. Clay will wash out, but you may not want to go out right after. The time noted on the experience, 2 hours, is generally descriptive of a 2 person experience which encompasses the majority of my bookings. In general, the experience is 1 hour per person. If there are 3 or 4 people in the booking, likely the experience will extend the 2 hour session time, and if there is 1 person in the booking it will be closer to an hour.

We'll start our adventure from the historic Presidio, heading over the exciting Golden Gate bridge! Then, it's a steady, firm climb up to Hawk Hill for a fantastic view of the Bay and the ocean (maybe even the Farallon Islands). We'll stop here for photos. We then fly down the hill to the famed surfing spot Rodeo Beach; to cozy, energetic Sausalito, through Mill Valley towards Mt. Tam; and back down through eucalyptus trees to Tam Junction, and SF. I'll do my best to teach several racing techniques along the way. While I don't provide bike rentals, I will refer you several reputable and conveniently-located rental agencies. In the event of a flat tire or breakdown, I'll be there to help. I carry a pump, small tire kit, and first aid kit. Other things to note Please bring your own cycling or athletic shoes, and bike shorts/shirt (if you want!), and some enthusiasm. It would also be great to have eaten a light breakfast 30+ minutes before the ride.

Magical Story Wine Tasting Experience in Amador
We are Story Winery, located in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range. Our winery consists of an 1865 former gold miner bunk/treehouse turned tasting room. It is surrounded by old and beautiful vineyards, planted in 1894, and the thing we are known for other than our award-winning wines, the awe-inspiring canyon views is something your heart will not easily forget. You are welcome to bring a picnic-style lunch and enjoy it with some of our award-winning wine. Other than our ancient/old vines, we also have been noted in various press releases such as Sacramento Magazine for utilizing the ancient UNESCO recognized Georgian Claypot (Qvevri) Method of winemaking used for 8,000 years in the Republic of Georgia where the owner originally hails from. On top of rare Georgian grape varietals, and high-quality local varietals being made in the Oldworld Qvevri method, Story features more than 20 other local varietals (many of them award winners) Amador is famous for, such as old-vine zinfandels, barbera, syrah, and much more! We can't wait to host you so come check out Story Winery and write your own magical story!

We will meet up in the old City Cemetery and Iโ€™ll fill you in on some of the well known writers who have wandered through Sacramento literary history. We can either sit in the shade of the trees and I will regale you with stories, or we can tour in my car the various landmarks related to Raymond Carver, Ernest Hemingway, Joan Didion, and more. Whichever one is more comfortable for you is fine. Youโ€™ll see where Maya Angelou liked to relax with a glass of wine, where a 50s suburban housewife churned out lesbian romance novels (which now have a huge cult following)and where the love letters of JD Salinger were plagiarized. Sacramento has been the host of many a surprising literary occurrence...
