카페
“Locally owned and operated with a great view of the boat harbor, they have a wide selection of coffee drinks, both hot and cold, and the service is friendly and cheerful. The baked goods offered are not locally made, but the coffee is locally roasted, and pretty darn good. Try the Harborside Mocha if you like a spicy Mexican-style mocha, it's my favorite. They have sweatshirts and coffee mugs/thermoses to purchase and a book exchange.”

“The Big Ray’s story begins in the 1940s as World War II made its way to Alaska, then a United States territory known for its abundant natural resources. The combination of the war and other opportunities brought an influx of service men, construction workers, prospectors and money north. After the war, servicemen Glenn Miller and Howard Cruver realized the potential for a thriving business and started outfitting Alaskans with military surplus cold weather gear including boots, pants and parkas. The two entrepreneurs opened up Big Ray’s in downtown Anchorage, then known as the Army Navy Store, and Fairbanks in 1947. After Howard’s passing in the mid 1950’s, Dick Cruver assumed his late brother’s position in the company. The partners ran the business until 1988 when they sold the business to their sons Mike Miller, Mark Cruver and friend and employee, Monty Rostad.”

“Island Seafoods is located on Kodiak’s historic Cannery Row right next to St Paul Harbor. Founded in 1999 as a small custom processing business. Island Seafoods served Kodiak’s charter fishing fleet and also processed commercially harvested halibut, Pacific Cod, rockfish and skates on a small scale. In the spring of 2000 the owners of Island Seafoods purchased the building and property across the street. With the larger facility, a brand new dock and direct access to Kodiak’s bustling waterfront the commercial production increased significantly. ”
