Come stay at this recently renovated, 1888 mining cabin converted into a cozy, energy efficient home. Enjoy the open kitchen and living area with warm woodstove then retreat to bedroom with mountain views.
The space is small but contains all the amenities one might want. The fully outfitted kitchen is great for those who love to cook. The woodstove is powerful enough to keep the whole house warm on a cold night although a natural gas furnace provides backup if needed.
The dishwasher is currently out of commission, but there's plenty of space for handwashing dishes. No microwave or coffee maker but we have a coffee grinder and french press.
The whole home is yours to use. There is a back deck with charcoal grille and mountain views.
We will be accessible by cell phone and email, but will be out of town
Even in Leadville summer, a warm jacket is recommended. There is also plenty of firewood for guests to make a fire in the woodstove.
We are teachers living in Leadville and love the rich history and community we've found here. We both thrive in the mountains and the adventures they provide. In particular with our home, we're passionate about energy efficiency and have spent much time converting our 1888 cabin to an energy sipping home.
