"Aloft" is located in a state park, and only 35% of Jekyll Island can be developed. We are surrounded by marshlands and the sea. Our property is situated on a quiet street, nestled between the marshlands and stately oak and pine forests.

This beautiful 1000 square foot loft has a private entrance and on-site parking. We offer our guests bicycles for their riding pleasure, as well as a welcome basket with fruit, wine and snacks. The owners, Pamela and Michael, live in the main house. When possible, they will meet you at arrival, or shortly after, to welcome you and answer your questions.

Just one minute away you'll discover the 18 miles of bike trails surrounding the island. You can bike to the fishing pier and beach and arrive in five minutes. Or, you may want to visit the Historic District, where over 300 Gilded Age (J.P. Morgan, Joseph Pulitizer, William Rockefeller and others) millionaires once lived. They built homes and a Club House on Jekyll Island, beginning in 1888. They typically spent 3-5 months down here yearly for the next 54 years. Their homes are being restored and many can be visited and appreciated.

We also have a world renowned Sea Turtle Center, where injured and sick turtles are flown in for surgeries and rehabilitation, and later released back to the sea. Bike toward the south and visit the Tidelands Nature Center, enjoy bird and wildlife viewing, or swim and sunbath on our 12 miles of white sand beaches. We have a seasonal Summer Waves Water Park, four famous golf courses, Red-bug Motorcar rentals, and carriage rides and trolley tours. Also, for the adventurous, scout out the hideaways of our local alligators! All this and so much more!

All activities are within minutes. Bed linens, towels and kitchen items are furnished. You bring food, toiletries and enjoy.

A three night minimum stay is required. Please note that the 15% sales and lodging tax required by the Jekyll Island authority is included in the booking prices. The tax rate drops to 3% for stays of longer than 30 days. Note that AirBnB website limitations may not reflect your true stay price for long term stays. Contact us through AirBnB for a custom rate with the correct taxes applied for a long term booking. We are unpaid employees of the state when it comes to collecting taxes.

"Aloft" is located in a quiet residential neighborhood in between the Jekyll Island airport and the campground. That puts us 5 to 10 minutes from the Jekyll Island beaches by car. Bicycle paths start one block from the house.

Also, you should know that "Aloft" is an open and airy unit with lots of natural light. It has a private entrance through our garage and is a separate space (not connected to our house) above the garage. You may occasionally hear the garage door open at 6:30 or so in the morning. We don't want that to be a surprise. Otherwise the unit is very quiet.

Kitchenette facilities are are a toaster oven, a two burner hot-plate and a microwave. The refrigerator is hotel sized.

"Aloft" is located in a quiet residential neighborhood. Jump on a bicycle and you are on the Jekyll Island bike paths on the border of our marshes made famous by the poet Sydney Lanier in less than 3 minutes.

Pam and Michael Mueller have lived in coastal Georgia for fifteen years. They met here in 1988, while studying law enforcement at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Brunswick, GA. At that point, they made a pact that if they were to marry one day, they would return to live in the Golden Isles. Seven years later their dreams came true! Michael now works in Brunswick. Pamela has become an author of children's books and historical novels. The Muellers bought a home with an 'undeveloped' loft and decided to refurbish it and turn it into a rental unit. This has turned into a delightful abode, and they very much enjoy sharing their little piece of paradise with others.
