The place is great for corporate leasing to individuals or families. It's also in a great family-oriented neighborhood with kids playing in the yard, people cutting their grass, washing their cars and enjoying a good old family backyard barbeque. It is not a party neighborhood.
My wife and I built the house with separate living spaces for both of our mothers. Until this date, they are still holding out and refusing to leave their homes. So, we are using AirBnB until they decide to leave their homes. The space has never been lived in on a continuous basis. Just with our guests from time to time.
Two bedroom fully furnished apartment. The apartment is a 2-bedroom independent space with full bathroom, full kitchen, washer/dryer, tv, wi-fi access, central air/heat.
Neighborhood is safe. All of the neighbors are homeowners. . The homes are situated on large lots and the area has a feel of semi-rural living. However, it is less than a five minute drive from New Orleans and the New Orleans skyline is clearly visible. The majority are professionals, government employees, business owners.
The City of New Orleans operates a ferry that takes you right in to the heart of the French Quarter. The ferry ride is less than 2 minutes. The ferry rides are free for pedestrians and $1 for cars. Taxi ride to and from airport is $35 each way. We recommend uber.
Walmart, Walgreens, shoping mall, breakfast places, park, fitness gym, restaurants are all within five minutes away.
The apartment is gorgeous and is part of a newly constructed home (2008). The upstairs is occupied by the homeowner. The downstairs was constructed with 2 living areas with enough independence for a mother-in-law. It has ample off street parking and has a security system.
One thing that sets this apartment apart from the rest is that it is friendly to the environment. Also it is not situated in the densely packed city center(i.e crime, (URL HIDDEN) )
but closer to the French Quarter and downtown than most places in New Orleans. Although the house was built in the style of the old New Orleans houses, everything is new and fresh. Unlike the older homes here in New Orleans, the hot water is always hot and there is sufficient water pressure. The air conditioning system is new and works as expected.
