Martyn and Lori-lee have been living in the picturesque village of Dolywddelan for 20 years. They moved to North Wales from the midlands to further Martyn's career as an outdoor instructor. During this time Martyn has owned and run his own mountain bike guiding company, specialising in enduro package holidays in Spain. He has worked in a management capacity in the outdoors for local councils, care homes, outdoor centres, private companies and was also head of outdoor activities for several councils.
Martyn's CV boasts Alpine climbing ascents of the Matterhorn, Mount Blanc, Aiguille L'Index, Cosmic Arete, The Breithorn, Aiguille de Midi traverse, and The Riffelhorn to mention a few.
Mountain bike wise he has rode in the home of mountain biking, Whistler, Canada and extensively throughout the French Alps, including Morzine, Chamonix, Chatel, Les Duex Alpes, Alpe d'Huez, Les Gets and Samoens. Martyn has also competed at the Megavalanche successfully four times. He has rode and guided in the Spanish mountains near Alicante as well as extensively throughout the British Isles. Presently he is working as a personal trainer, specialising in Olympic lifting on behalf of British Weight Lifting.
Lori-lee is originally from Toronto Canada but has made Britain her home now after 40 years. She has previously worked in the hotel trade and will be your primary contact while staying at Gwersyll Gwaelod and currently works in the nursing industry.
