Hello Vanese I first want to start by sincerely apologizing for your experience at my home. While I’ll never make any excuses for my short comings however your reservation was very last minute but there definitely should have been the basic Necessities (soap and trash bags) in the home. The cigar butts found on top of the 5 feet balcony rails, were from the previous guest so I’m not claiming anything, that was simply the case. I do apologize your 11 month old child had to experience that. I’m a non-smoker and I do not allow smoking in my home. We were so focused on accommodating your last minute booking and trying to have the place ready on the inside, We didn’t think to look/clean the balcony on the outside.
Vanese I would like to address some of your inaccuracies though.
My home is literally across the street from Morehouse College, Spelman College and Clark University. With this being said I would like to point that these are well respected Historical Black Universities and 10’s of thousands of parents send their children to these schools every year. If you were to (Hidden by Airbnb) this location it would state that the area is Located in Atlanta University’s/College Town which is
located in DOWNTOWN Atlanta. This area is safe and is typical to downtown living. At any point if you did not feel safe you could have communicated that with me and we would have made other arrangements. Last I checked crime does not have a zip code or address. Whether you’re staying in Buckhead,Sandy Springs, College Park, Downtown or at ANY hotel in the world crime has no barriers.
You were sent the house rules because you stated an arrival time but didn’t arrive at that time and with it being close to midnight, I was half asleep which lead to the multiple calling. It was so LATE I called you 3 times because you had not checked-in by the time you stated and I wanted to make sure you were able to find my home, I guess no good deed goes unpunished. I had spoken to you a couple times to check and make sure everything was fine and other than the balcony issue you made me to believe your stay was going well. At any point you could have contacted me or Airbnb and we both would have been happy to refund you or help find other accommodations for you stay.
At this point I have hosted over 10 guests and this is the first time ANY guest has not been happy. I take pride in my home and try to make EVERY guest feel welcomed and comfortable during their stay. I take all reviews extremely serious and will work hard to make sure I meet ALL our guests expectations. I’m really sad that I wasn’t able to satisfy you completely.
