It is sad and disturbing to read Rahul's comments. This two bedroom suite is a new suite added only last year, wherefore, I don't understand the "cracks in the wall" bit. As one can see, in the various reviews for this suite, only once have we received a mildly unsatisfactory review, and that too pertaining more to the (Email hidden by Airbnb) fortable home furniture has been used as furnishings, which is what is expected in any home stay, as this is not a hotel.
Rahul, admitted to being a novice at driving in the hills, could not take the pressure of Hill traffic, and could not even maneuver his car to the guest parking area, which accomodates 7-8 vehicles, including tempo travellers (meaning wide bodied vehicles also) Wherefore we let him park in our separate private parking area, for his entire stay.
Both Rahul and his wife were offered complimentary hot beverages on their arrival which they gladly partook, and also ordered some snack with it, which was provided.
Beechwood provides a fully equipped pantry/kitchenette, including cooking gas, OTG, refrigerator, etc, for each apartment/suite. Catering is only against specific requests. Guests have the option of either cooking themselves, or they can walk up in 5 minutes to the mall where there are several eating joints. Then of course there is the option of home delivery too. I am surprised that despite being so dissatisfied with Anu's food, the family repeatedly ordered food from her throughout their stay, even complimenting her for some dishes. Hence these bad reviews are absolutely surprising.
Being inept at driving in the hills, and finding local taxi service expensive, the family did not move out much, and mostly stayed in their cottage.
The man appeared disgruntled throughout, was rude to the staff, and found fault with almost everything. It appeared as if they were not exposed to travelling in the hills, especially during peak tourist season, and were clearly unaware of tariffs in hotels, whence the expectations of 5 star luxury comfort at a very low budget.
My suggestion to him, for future, he should book in smaller/budget hotels or dharamshalas, more suitable to the pocket.
I write this with great reservation, but also must state the facts clearly.
Wishing Rahul all the best for his future holidays.
