This place is hard to find in the dark - so try to arrive during the daytime to make finding it easier! It's tucked away and you feel really secluded and nestled in the woods - yet you are only a few minutes away from everything in Boone, which is awesome!
My favorite part was the balcony porch complete with a charcoal grill, a table to dine on, and comfy seating for curling up with a book and a drink. There's also an outdoor futon on the porch that's not shown in the pictures. The bed I slept in was super comfortable and I appreciated there were throw blankets scattered around the house to curl up with in the evenings when it cooled off. The living room can comfortably seat 5-6 people. We really liked that there were several common spaces: so people could be doing different things. We loved the foosball table in the basement!
One kitchen item was missing (tea kettle) that the housekeeper had said was there when I asked ahead of time. Otherwise, the kitchen was fully stocked with whatever you might need. However, when I let Wendy know she had a tea kettle delivered the next day, which I appreciated. The bed I slept in was really comfortable and there were plenty of extra pillows and more than enough towels for everyone. There were a couple houses around this one but we couldn't hear any of the neighbors other than some occasional dog barking. The interior of the cabin is much darker than shown in the pictures - not a lot of light comes in since it's so wooded and a few more lights/lamps would be helpful upstairs for the evening if you are reading - we brought some of the basement table lamps up to use.
The washer and dryer don't work very well - so I wouldn't recommend planning to take just a few outfits and wash them if you are staying for a few days. The washer took at least an hour to do a load and we had to run the dryer 2-3 full hour cycles to get things to dry so it was a slooow process to wash our clothes. The info Wendy sent before arriving said to bring our own soap, trash bags, paper towels, and toilet paper but the house was already had all these items.
You could come here and just stay the whole weekend at the cabin or use it as a base to go out and explore Boone! Overall - a lovely place to spend a few days relaxing and exploring Boone!
