A cozy log cabin perfectly located between Boone, Banner Elk & Blowing Rock. Quick access to ASU and downtown Boone, Beech & Sugar Mountain, the Blue Ridge Parkway and all the views and hiking that comes with it, and everything you would need to just hang out in the cabin all day (including lots of things to make it super family friendly!). Perfect for families, retreats, groups of friends and more!
This space is covered with gorgeous knotty pine, giving it a distinct mountain feel, with all the extras to make you feel nice and cozy. This includes easy-to-use gas logs in the fireplace, a wood-burning stove, a jacuzzi in the Master bath, a SmartTV along with cable, Super Nintendo, and a fully stocked kitchen with everything you'd need to prepare meals. Plus the basics like towels, bed linens, and a fully stocked kitchen.
To make the house more family friendly, we do provide two Pack 'n Plays, a highchair, a hiking backpack, as well as a collection of children's books and toys (including Super Nintendo!) for your use while staying here.
Travel distance to the following (the ranges are because it depends where you're headed in each town):
Boone: 15-25 minutes
Banner Elk: 15-20 minutes
Blowing Rock: 15-20 minutes
Valle Crucis: 10 minutes
Linville Falls: 45 minutes
Beech Mountain: 35-40 minutes
Sugar Mountain: 30 minutes
Tweetsie Railroad: 20 minutes
Tanger Outlets: 15 minutes
You will have full access to the space, including parking in front as well as on the driveway, all three bedrooms, and two extra futon couches that can transition into beds for additional sleeping.
We are always accessible via phone and email throughout your stay, though the house is all yours so we won't be in your way.
Check in is at 3:00 pm, but if you have any special circumstances that may require an earlier arrival, just let me know. If the house isn’t being cleaned that day we’re usually pretty happy to be flexible!
At the house there’s room for three cars in front of the house (which is totally flat). We also have a driveway which will can fit up to four cars at the bottom of the hill. That said, the driveway is extremely steep, and made of dirt, so we recommend that cars without 4-wheel/All wheel drive should NOT park here. If there is any rain/snow during your stay, it can make it harder to get up the steep hill, and nearly impossible if you don't have 4 wheel drive. For large groups, we encourage carpooling to prevent any issues with parking.
The house is stocked with a lot of basic supplies you’ll need during your stay, including:
•Sheets & Pillows
•Fully stocked kitchen (pots, pans, knives, silverware, plates, etc.)
•Some bonus kitchen items (salt, pepper, some basic spices, olive oil, etc.)
Some things you’ll want to bring for yourself:
•Toiletries (including shampoo, conditioner & soap)
•Paper Towels & Toilet Paper (we will usually have some to start with, but it can depend on how many back-to-back reservations we have at the house, so better safe than sorry :)
•Food & Drink
Check out is at 12:00 pm. In the binder on the counter you will find a page with a check-out checklist, so please make sure to check this before leaving. If check-out is not completed appropriately, any necessary costs will be deducted from your security deposit.
I think that's all, but if we've forgotten anything or you have any questions, don't hesitate to let me know!

A dog loving videographer based out of Durham, NC but a New Englander at heart. Born and raised up north, I moved to North Carolina right out of college and fell in love. The mountains immediately stole my heart because they smell like Maine, but I occasionally enjoy making trips to the other side of the state as well. We love hosting guests at our home in the Bull City, and at our mountain house in the cabins. There's something great about getting to share the magic of both places with those visiting :)
