Our Shepherd's Hut has wonderful unspoilt views across the Dorset countryside in a quiet secluded spot on our small farm. The refurbished traditional shepherd's hut is fully insulated and has a cosy log stove with wood provided.
Ideal spot for a quiet few days away in unspoilt countryside. You can either eat at one of the local pubs (nearest half a mile away) or cook on the double burner BBQ and keep warm in front of the fire pit. Pots ,cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery is provided.
I refurbished the shepherd's hut in 2009 and I often use it in the spring during the lambing season so I can keep an eye on the flock.
The surrounding woods are amazing in the spring with thousands of bluebells, wild garlic and wood anemones.
The hut has a double bed and a log burning (URL HIDDEN) is well insulated and the log burner is very efficient which keeps the hut very warm, making stays possible all year round. It is lit by very good LED lighting powered by a 12 volt battery. Outside there is a double burner gas BBQ and a log pit. There is a small charge for logs for the fire pit but logs for the wood burner are free of charge. Basic cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery are provided.
There is access to an outside loo with hot and cold water, and water points for drinking water. These are about 300 metres away in the tree line at the edge of the field along with a recycling bay.
The hut is in a very quiet spot in a field, which is accessible by most cars unless it is very wet in which case we ask you to park on the hard standing in front of our house and walk,it's not very far.
There are lovely walks into the woods in front of the hut and good walks into the thatched village of Milton Abbas which is a must. The village has a good pub and a post office.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any queries.
If you wish to pitch a tent near the hut this can be accommodated on request.

Please take all rubbish home with you or use the recycling bins near the toilet.
