Comprehensive reviews are always welcome thank you. We are though somewhat disappointed having had numerous very friendly conversations, that none of the issues mentioned in the review, other than the highly unexpected window break, were brought to our attention. We had cleaned the house thoroughly including vacuuming then floor washing throughout prior to your arrival. The house is oak framed and there are of course spiders in the joins and at this time of the year, particularly in the current heatwave, they are active and windows are open. The dust found necessary to clean yourselves must have only been under the double bed which was moved across the room; we had asked that furniture was not to be moved and that the cupboard clearly marked 'private' was not to be used but this was surprisingly ignored. The mattress in the 'blue room' is not due for replacement it is an expensive one with special springs, but we do have another substantial much stiffer mattress and whilst very heavy to move, we'd gladly have replaced it for you; as gratefully acknowledged, we do try very hard and do take great pleasure in helping our guests enjoy their holiday. To help guests pick a house that's right for them we describe very openly in the listing that our house is designed with lots of windows and light so one feels immersed in the surrounding countryside particularly in high summer. The lined curtains in the bedrooms do cut out a lot of the light but we do not have 'blackout' apart from nights outside of summer when there is no moon or heavy cloud. We need to clarify that the common is not a 2 minute walk from the house, it is directly outside our gate. We genuinely believed that you'd had a super time, particularly as you'd expressed an intent to return with your country loving parents; we had messaged you hoping that you'd had a super time at the children's beach.
