The island of Murano is famous for the long tradition of glass processing. Plenty of visitors take the vaporettos to explore the Glass Museum, dedicated to the history of glassmaking over the centuries, and to buy local handcrafted souvenirs. The Church of Santa Maria and San Donato, in Romanesque style, has a floor with colored mosaics and, according to legend, houses the bones of the dragon killed by the saint.
