"...Nestled in old live oaks and a forest of greenery is the newly updated creation of a small, sweet, serene and quite private cottage; a delightful hideaway, 1 1/2 miles form the Gulf of Mexico. Close to Belleair Beach, Clearwater Beach, Indian Rocks Beach, Indian Shores, Reddington Beach, Reddington Shores and the many others that line the Pinellas County coastline, including Madeira Beach, Treasure Island Beach, Sunset Beach, St. Pete Beach and Pass-a-Grille Beach!
Owners Ron and Mike have created a little paradise adjacent to their 1887 Arts n' Crafts home, reputed to be the oldest in Largo. This is a two story, five gable/dormer wooden house made of heart of pine which had been countrified by previous owners. It was moved in the early 1960s to its present location retaining most of its integrity. Using this as their primary residence for over 25 years, they have painstakingly restored this house - inside and out - continually improving, upgrading and designing walkways, patios, and garden areas with imaginative inventiveness..."
Here are some pictures of what we call our cottage. It is a respectful distance from the rear of our home, connected with a up scale deck which surrounds two sides of the cottage and the complete back portion of our home. The "Cottage" is a totally separate building - not connected to the house except by decking. The "Cottage' has two doors: an oversized front door entrance, and a back door off the kitchen that reveals a very private, cozy morning sun deck with lounge chairs, plants, and an upscale gas grill and all the cook's utensils. The washer/dryer are also housed off this rear deck. Parking dedicated to guests' use is just a few steps - about 60 feet - from the front door of the Cottage. There is more parking available if desired. It's just been updated and everything is new as of 2018: stove, microwave, refrigerator, double sink, dishwasher, garbage disposal, a super blender - on request (Montel Williams), upscale cutlery and dishes, granite counter/bar with 1950's swivel stools, complete, new central air conditioning/heating including vent to the bathroom, totally brand new bathroom - shower only. Indeed, even all the blinds are brand new. The stackable washer/dryer combo is off the back deck dedicated to Cottage use, a few steps from the kitchen back door along with an upscale gas grill (permission and guidance required - just ask!). For the beach enthusiasts, we have over-sized beach towels, a great beach umbrella and 2 of the best beach chairs on the market! There are two closets, one housing an extra wide ironing board and an upscale iron, with plenty of hanging/storage space; one next to a granite topped two drawer dresser for your convenience. There is a DVD player and wall mounted 40" Samsung Smart Television and Wi-Fi via Brighthouse/Spectrum Cable Services. As seen in the pictures, there are two matching, high end, Queen size Memory Foam Sleeper Couches which easily convert to divinely comfortable queen size beds. One is devoted for guests - open and fully prepared with cotton sheets, many pillows, an oversized comforter and blankets - all freshly laundered! The other is used primarily as oversized couch but can also be prepared for sleeping on advance notice. Also, as pictured, there is a step up into the bathroom and another step up into the kitchen area. The bar is on the same main level as is everything else.
We are very proud of what we have designed and constructed and are continually fine tuning in an attempt to always make it better - continually - in any way we can. We pay attention to details and are always striving to improve. My heritage is Dutch/English and am true to my roots of fastidious cleanliness and order. And, I will attempt to make everything as comfortable and pleasant for you as possible.
With the views of a golf course, open fields and just two neighbors, living
at the end of a "NO OUTLET" street, privacy prevails, and, minimal to no traffic, after 5:00 pm. There is Largo Medical Hospital, The Diagnostic Medical Center, The Eye Institute, The Amish Country Store, The Pinellas Trail (a major county long walking/running/biking path), Brookdale (Pinecrest Place - an upscale retirement condo complex)- all within 2 blocks! There are restaurants, thrift stores, an Ace Hardware, a Publix Supermarket, jewelry stores, gas stations, a veterinarian and so much more within a 1/4 mile walk - including Taylor Park - a wonderful, and very large, lake centered county park open from morning to night!

2 MILES TO THE GULF OF MEXICO AND GORGEOUS INDIAN ROCKS BEACH WITH PLENTY OF FREE PARKING IN AN UPSCALE, SAFE AND FRIENDLY BEACH COMMUNITY. THE PINELLAS TRAIL - A BIKING/JOGGING VENUE WHICH RUNS THE COMPLETE LENGTH OF THE COUNTY IS RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER. THERE IS A GOLF COURSE ACROSS THE STREET, A FULL SERVICE HOSPITAL A BLOCK AWAY ( which puts us on a PRIORITY ONE power grid in case of a storm!), TAYLOR PARK ONE OF PINELLAS COUNTY'S BEST, and 1/4 MILE AWAY, A MAJOR SUPERMARKET (Publix), THE AMISH COUNTRY STORE up the street, A BIKE RENTAL SHOP, AND VARIOUS RETAIL SHOPS IN WALKING DISTANCE. AND... MUCH, MUCH MORE! ALSO WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE ARE NUMEROUS RESTAURANTS INCLUDING THAI, CHINESE, GREEK, PIZZA, MOM AND POPS, ITALIAN, BURGER AND THE USUAL FAST FOOD ENERPRISES. SO VERY MUCH TO OFFER AND SO CLOSE BY, BUT WITH PARADISE COTTAGE RETAINING ITS PRIVATE AND SECLUDED CHARACTER ON AN NO OUTLET STREET WITH VERY LITTLE TRAFFIC!
