Guided Tour of an Iconic Painted Lady Home on Postcard Row

We provide a guided tour of one of San Francisco's most iconic homes- one of the Painted Ladies on Postcard Row, Alamo Square. The Painted Ladies are all private homes, rarely open to the public. Tours are tailored to the interests of the group; film, tv, architecture, history, historic preservation, all presented in an informal, friendly, storytelling format. One of the best preserved of the circa 1894 homes in this row, this home is filled with family heirlooms and the stories of those who once owned them, dating back to 1849 and the Gold Rush. Visitors will have a unique experience of what it is like to live in one of the most well-known homes in America through the eyes of a native, an historian- who has been the owner for over two decades.

You will have the opportunity to paint iconic San Francisco images in watercolor with an experienced artist and teacher. Beginners are welcome and all materials are included, you'll walk away with your own personal masterpiece! My name is James Gleeson and I am a multi faceted, local San Francisco Artist who specializes in local scenes of San Francisco. My work reflects both academic discipline and creative artistic freedom. My studio is located in the Bernal Heights/Mission district where I display my work and share my passion for art with others. This is where I paint and teach my classes, you will be immersed by iconic images and paintings of San Francisco. We do a different theme each class and I prepare an individual drawing for each student on watercolor paper. All students are provided materials and a spacious place to work. We will do a quick round of introductions and I'll explain our theme and painting in a beginner friendly step by step process. I will explain and demonstrate each step for students to paint each segment of the painting. You will learn basic water color technique as well as color and design methods. I am very excited to host you and to provide this artistic experience. As a teacher I love working with beginners and seeing their inspiration for art grow. A morning hike to stunning city views, in a dog friendly park with our rescue dogs! Non-profit, all proceeds go to the very dogs you are walking, who are also up for adoption. We'll meet friendly people on the way and let them know about the dogs. A nice walk up hiking trails to the top of Runyon Canyon. Fantastic city views, and the perfect view of the Hollywood Sign! As you climb your way up the hill with your new pals in tow, you’ll be exercising and socializing the dogs, and letting locals know they’re up for adoption. You’ll also become a puppy paparazzi and take their photos in front of panoramic backdrops—you can even pose with them with the famous Hollywood sign behind you. Your pictures will then be used to generate interest in the rescue organization, attract potential adopters, and bring in donations that will help further care for and foster the dogs until they find their forever homes. NEW! We have added afternoon hikes Thursday through Saturday. Watch the sun set from 1000 feet above LA, amazing view as we walk down Runyon Canyon... and then you can go explore Hollywood and West Hollywood, a short walk away for an evening coffee or dinner! 말리부 바다에서 서핑 배우기

I use a few different beaches in Malibu so the beach we will be meeting on will be based on the conditions for the day you come. The beaches that I use are between the famous Malibu Pier in Southern Malibu to Zuma Beach in the Northern part of Malibu. Start to finish is 1 1/2 hours. The first 20 minutes we will consist of a beach lesson on the sand where we will go over the basics of surfing. We will go over water safety, paddling, balancing and the proper technique of surfing. Then out in the water for the rest of the time catching waves. My goal is to have you catch as many waves as possible in the time we spend together. I also almost guaranty that you will stand up and ride many waves. Other things to note I will supply surfboards, wetsuits and lesson. This Experience can be booked any time during any day.
