Trastevere’s streets, ancient facades, and lively atmosphere have made it a favourite of movie directors for decades. Join me, a photographer and film-writer, on an experience through the neighbourhood of Trastevere. We will discover the most important shooting locations, we will have a look at the original film scenes in the places where they were shot, to gain an understanding of the relationship between Rome and film. Directors like De Sica, Argento, Visconti, Antonioni, Rossellini, Pasolini, and many more, Italian and foreigners, have shot over 100 film scenes in Trastevere.
• Meet in Piazza San Cosimato, where we will do a location photoshoot and and uncover why and how italian moviemakers were the first to use real urban charctera and spaces to enhance their storytelling.
• Walk to Sergio Leone's house and other 14 locations to uncover why this area has one of the largest concentrations of film people, cinemas and shooting locations.
• You’ll have a photographic experience of why directors have always gravitated toward this part of the Eternal City.
You’ll gain a new insights into Italy’s cinema history, understanding why this neighborhood continues to draw creative legends and filmmakers even today.
On each of the 14 locations Federico, a former still photographer, will direct the partecipants in a location photoshoot to share with your friends.
